🥩 What is Yakiniku?

Yakiniku (焼肉) literally means "grilled meat" in Japanese. It’s basically Japanese style barbecue, but it’s so much more than that!

It’s a dining style where premium cuts of meat, especially Wagyu beef, are grilled right at your table, piece by piece. It’s interactive, flavourful, and super satisfying.

Having lived in Japan for 6 years, it’s one of my favourite type of Japanese cuisine and one of my favourite ways to enjoy Wagyu and Kobe beef.

Why?

  • It’s a dining experience you can enjoy with family and friends

  • You can try an array of various cuts (and even adventurous cuts if you dare)

  • It’s a huge part of Japanese culture

  • You can customise how the meat is cooked to your own preference

In this exclusive dinner, you’ll try various cuts that aren’t found on regular menus, learn how to enjoy them the Japanese way, and experience the heart of wagyu culture in Tokyo.

💬 Meet the Owner: Passion Behind the Wagyu

The owner shared his story with us and here’s what I learned.

The restaurant’s story begins during the quiet uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. When his friend suggested, “Why don’t you give it a try?” the seed was planted: a vision to share Japan’s finest Wagyu with the world. With rising global interest in premium Japanese beef, the restaurant was born from a desire to create something meaningful for international guests.

What sets this place apart isn’t just the melt-in-your-mouth cuts of A5 Wagyu and Kobe beef, it's the the spirit of hospitality, おもてなし. From the moment you walk in, the staff welcome you like an old friend, speaking English and offering heartfelt hospitality that makes you feel at home.

All the beef is sourced through exclusive, long-standing partnerships built on trust. These relationships allow them to consistently provide the highest quality cuts to their guests.

More than anything, they want their guests to leave thinking:

“Japan is an amazing country — I’d love to come back.”

He said “if we can make them fall in love with Japan through a single meal, that’s our greatest joy.
